Rings and Blades
Blades
Blades are often considered to be the least important
element in the pad printing process, with the open
system. In fact, their characteristics determine print
optimization and more importantly, the life of the
etched plate. It is for these reasons essential that
blades are manufactured from special high quality steel
with perfectly uniform thickness, and that the chamfer
is made with absolute accuracy.
To guarantee consistent results, TOSH produces a range
of blades with the above characteristics supplied in a
range of thicknesses and heights to suit every
application. Within the range there are two types, T and
TS, which are fundamentally different because of their
chamfer. They guarantee uniform cleaning of the inking
surface due to the special function of the chamfer which
can extend the life of a standard plate and also achieve
faster set-up times.
TOSH doctor blade - type T
TOSH blades type T are particularly suitable for use
with steel plates with solid images that are etched with
a screen. They are precision made from special high
quality steel guaranteeing consistent results.
TOSH doctor blade - type TS
TOSH type TS blades are characterized by a
chamfer of uniform thickness. They are manufactured from
special steel and are particularly suitable for use with
photopolymer plates and 0.5 mm steel etched plates. They
guarantee uniform thickness of the inking surface. The
function of the chamfer greatly extends the life of a
standard plate
Blade Rings
It is well known that, in recent years, the
hermetic system has become more and more popular as an
alternative to the open ink/blade system. In order to
supply customers with the most suitable blade ring, TOSH
has developed and produced a complete range.
Blade Rings type ST and MM
Suitable for 10mm thick steel plates. They are
manufactured with special quality steel and with a
double chamfer. They have a shorter life compared with
those manufactured in ceramic, but at relatively lower
cost.
Blade Rings type CR
Suitable for thin steel plates and photopolymer
plates. They are made in ceramic with only one chamfer.
